Unsurprisingly, Adele moves into the top spot with “Hello” after debuting at #3 last week, unseating Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” after twelve weeks at the top. It’s Adele’s fourth chart-topper, following “Rolling In The Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Skyfall.” Jepsen and Sara Bareilles each move down a spot to fill out the top three. Cam moves into the top five with “Burning House,” while Andrew Ripp rebounds to a new peak of #8 for “Hole In My Heart.” While DNCE’s debut single “Cake By The Ocean” sits just outside the top ten, they nab the top debut with SWAAY EP track and likely follow-up single “Pay My Rent,” in at #47. The rest of the debuts are led by a new Waitress cut from Bareilles, a pair of Andrew Ripp debuts (and a re-entry for “Animal”), and another Carrie Underwood album track.
Adele sails in at #3 with “Hello,” the highest debut since Alabama Shakes’s “Don’t Wanna Fight” also scored a #3 debut early in the year. Troye Sivan’s “Talk Me Down” is the greatest gainer of the week, jumping 50-21. Carrie Underwood marks the next-highest new entry, as Storyteller cut “Relapse” enters at #29; new songs from One Direction and Ellie Goulding also make the top 50.
Finish Ticket and Justin Bieber enter the top ten, pushing out Andrew Ripp and Lianne La Havas. Not far below, Ellie Goulding scores her second big debut of the year with Delirium track “Something In The Way You Move,” which enters at #13. Tinashé and Dagny make big moves and approach the top twenty. Additional debuts include Kenzie Nimmo, Olly Murs, and Carrie Underwood.
Carly Rae Jepsen and Alessia Cara are the week’s leading ladies: the former sits at every other position in the top ten (including #1 for “Run Away With Me” for a fourth week), while the latter jumps to #2 with “Here” and grabs the two highest debuts in the top thirty with Four Pink Walls EP tracks “Seventeen” and “Outlaws.” Felix Cartal and Nikki Yanofsky’s collaboration “Something To Live For” also makes another nice jump, up eight to #6. Other notable climbs include new Carrie Underwood single “Smoke Break,” Mackenzie Thoms’s “Conviction,” Shane & Emily’s “You’re Mine,” and JoJo’s “Save My Soul.” The latter two artists also add new debuts to the chart, as do Andrew Ripp, Emily King, R5, and Justin Bieber. Finally, Maddie & Tae re-enters with “Downside Of Growing Up” thanks to the release of their debut album, Start Here, as does Taylor Swift with new single “Wildest Dreams.”
It’s a very E·MO·TION-al week on the chart for Carly Rae Jepsen, who notches a third week at #1 with “Run Away With Me.” With the entire top ten stagnant, the album’s title track and “I Really Like You” continue their hold on three of its ten spots. Most of the album enters the chart this week as well, led by “Let’s Get Lost” at #15. In other news, Felix Cartal’s collaboration with Nikki Yanofsky, “Something To Live For,” vaults from its #86 debut last week to #14. Gavin James, ROMANS, and Emily King score large jumps as well. Other debuts include two tracks from Grace Mitchell’s new Raceday EP, plus new tracks from Brayton Bowman, Carrie Underwood, BØRNS, newcomer Mackenzie Thoms, Céline Dion & Fred Pellerin, The Neighbourhood, Nick Jonas, Gorgon City featuring ROMANS, and JoJo.
